Advice for landowners and farmers
Agricultural Holdings Act 1986
If you have a tenancy agreement that was made before 1st September 1995 and are a farm business tenant or landlord, you may be able to claim compensation under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 for improvements, termination of a tenancy, or when asking for a rent review. We would be happy to assist you with these related issues.
Grazing tenancies and licences
If you have a grazing licence that allows you to graze livestock on land or you are leasing land to grazing farmers, issues can arise such as contractual disputes, infringements of easements, or trespassing. We understand how frustrating this can be which is why we are here to assist you to take the correct steps to resolution.
Estates and inheritance
Under UK law, there is no legal requirement to leave the land or other possessions to anyone. However, if you have been excluded from a Will or feel as though you should be entitled to a person’s estate or part of it, you may be able to make a claim under the Inheritance Act.
Who is entitled to the estate?
A few factors must be considered when establishing whether you may be entitled to make a claim, such as your relationship with the deceased and your financial situation.
If this is something you have been affected by, it is important to contact a solicitor straight away as there are time limits on such claims.
